LCI Reveals Assist for Lung Most cancers Analysis Funding at GO2 Voices Summit


LCI proudly participated within the GO2 Voices Summit.

Lung Most cancers Initiative (LCI) proudly participated within the GO2 Voices Summit held March 9–11, 2025, in Washington, DC. Representing LCI, Board Member Dr. Bradley Icard and Growth Director Susan Kjellqvist joined advocates from throughout the nation to name for elevated federal assist for lung most cancers analysis and to strengthen our advocacy expertise.

Alongside fellow North Carolina constituents, they urged lawmakers to:

  • Cross a FY2025 spending invoice with most most cancers analysis funding.
  • Allocate $60 million to the Lung Most cancers Analysis Program below the Division ofDefense’s CDMRP.
  • Assist sturdy funding for the NIH, NCI, ARPA-H, and FDA.

Additionally they advocated for 2 key legislative efforts:

  • Re-introduction of the bipartisan Girls and Lung Most cancers Analysis and Preventative Providers Act.
  • Co-sponsorship of the Medicare Multi-Most cancers Early Detection Screening Protection Act (H.R. 842/S. 339).

A spotlight of the Summit was connecting with different passionate advocates, united by a shared dedication to combating lung most cancers. Collectively, they made it clear to Congress that cuts to analysis funding are unacceptable. Continued funding in lung most cancers analysis has already saved lives—now could be the time to construct on that momentum, not danger it.

As we transfer ahead, LCI stays devoted to empowering the lung most cancers neighborhood and championing the pressing want for sustained, elevated funding. The way forward for analysis—and the lives it could possibly save—is determined by it.
