PHILADELPHIA — On this video, Michael Fisher, MD, highlights a keynote presentation given by Charles Limoli, PhD, on the Worldwide Symposium on Pediatric Neuro-Oncology.
Limoli, a professor and vice chair of radiation oncology on the College of California-Irvine, offered on using FLASH radiotherapy for faster therapy supply that spares regular tissue and improves outcomes.
“[If] you may give therapy doses of radiation with out inflicting any of the neurocognitive points, that might be transformative,” Fisher, a professor of pediatrics at College of Pennsylvania’s Perelman College of Drugs, mentioned. “[FLASH radiotherapy] would open up the potential of utilizing radiation for younger kids that we might be hesitant to make use of it for.”
