Trojans’ Chris Lewis out for the season following most cancers analysis, therapy


TROY, Ala. (WTVY) – Troy College’s vast receiver Chris Lewis won’t play soccer throughout the upcoming season following his bone most cancers analysis and therapy, he informed ESPN.

Lewis first opened up about his most cancers analysis in March, explaining that he discovered a couple of malignant bone tumor behind his left knee after Troy received the 2023 Solar Belt Championship.

After a 10-week chemotherapy therapy, Lewis had surgical procedure to take away the mass from his femur in April.

Lewis is coming into his junior 12 months at Troy, along with his sophomore 12 months seeing a document 735 yards receiving with 10 touchdowns.

Final 12 months, he was ranked as one of the best receiver within the nation, with a median of round 23 yards per catch.

“My teammates and coaches have been calling and texting and checking up on me,” Lewis stated. “Once I’m at Kids’s [of Alabama], they’ve been coming and sitting with me … I miss being [at Troy]; I simply miss being across the staff and the common schedule I’ve been accustomed to.”

In a Fb publish, Lewis remained optimistic, reminding followers that his story is “nowhere close to full,” and that he’ll return to campus this fall.

Lewis has arrange a GoFundMe to offset medical bills, with hopes of elevating $150,000.
